The newest addition to the hood, Austin's Pizza 263 is hosting the local arts group Cuernavaca Arts Cooperative. I am showing two recent paintings entitled "Where there is smoke..."
Five of the Cuernavaca Arts Cooperative members are exhibiting work at our local Bee Caves Coffee shop. You can see this fun and vibrant work until September 20th.
The CAC Art Academy was started this summer. We taught a fun class called Art Naturalist on site at the Commons Ford Park. The kids were great! They did some awesome sketches of landscapes, bugs, flowers, frogs and explored the natural setting.
The Cuernavaca Arts Cooperative was founded in December of 2013 by Jodi Bade and Maura Schaffer. They were hoping to gather artists living and working in the Lake Hills neighborhood (off of Cuernavaca Dr. in western Austin) and invite them to band together to support and inspire one another and to promote the arts in our local community. Our group is still very young, but it has already grown to include over 25 local artists. We all have been having a great time getting to know one another, and working together toward some shared goals. The purpose of the CAC is to create a community of artists to network, share ideas, and support and inspire one another. We are here to promote one another's work, and to promote the arts in general within our local community
